Miss Victoria Rose

Miss Victoria Rose is a British trained fully accredited Consultant Plastic Surgeon who is on the General Medical Council's specialist register for Plastic Surgery and is a member of The British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Her main area of expertise is microsurgical reconstruction. 

Miss Rose started her training in Plastic Surgery in 1998. She worked in a variety of London Plastic Surgery Units as well as the prestigious Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and the St Andrew's Centre in Chelmsford. During her training, she spent time at the MD Anderson in Dallas, Akademikliniken in Stockholm and was a microsurgical fellow in Taiwan for 15 months. 

Miss Rose has been an NHS Consultant since 2007 and worked initially in Manchester at the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital, one of the largest breast cancer units in the country. In April 2013, she moved back to London to take the post of Lead for Plastic Surgery Trauma Reconstruction at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation trust. She is now working in the Gender Affirmation service at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital 

Her main areas of interest are microsurgical reconstruction, complex breast reconstruction, trauma reconstruction and gender affirmation surgery, particularly masculinising chest wall surgery. She uses all techniques, including periareolar, double incision and liposuction. She also sees a number of patients requiring revisional surgery and undertakes feminising chest wall surgery and body contouring privately. At Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, she is leading the phalloplasty service.

She has been a member of BAGIS since its inception and co-wrote the standards for chest wall surgery used by NHSE. Rose is also actively involved in Plastic Surgery training and has represented both the London and North West Deaneries. Currently, she is the Chair of the Specialist Advisory Committee for the Joint Committee of Surgical Training. She holds the PG Certificate in Medical Education and an LLM in Legal Aspects of Medical Practice from Cardiff University.
